About Thanksgiving Feast

Thanksgiving Feast is a spectacular John Jay tradition. Enjoy a traditional dinner of turkey, stuffing, and all the trimmings served to you in the elegantly transformed dining hall or choose a vegan/vegetarian, halal or Kosher meal. This year’s feast will take place on Thursday, November 15th at 5:00pm and 7:30pm. Reservations will be available on a first-come, first-served basis by table and seating time (like at a restaurant). Groups of 5, 6, 7 and 8 will be accepted. We also have a limited amount of "community seating" for individual reservations. Enjoy this festive dinner at the cost of one meal swipe from your Dining plan. Payment will be processed at the time of reservation confirmation to ensure that as many students as possible are able to experience this wonderful event!

Important Information 

To attend Thanksgiving Feast you must have a Dining plan, a confirmed reservation, and a ticket. Payment will only be accepted in the form of a meal swipe. Guest meal swipes will not be permitted for this event. In order to complete a reservation request form you will need a name, UNI, email and meal preference for every person in your party. If you submit an incomplete form or include guests who do not have a Dining plan, your request will be denied.

Please note, submitting a reservation request does not guarantee your seat. Your reservation is not confirmed until someone from Dining contacts your Table Captain via email. This could take up to a week, please be patient. Once your reservation is confirmed, payments will be processed and no changes will be permitted. We have a strict no refund policy for this event, no exceptions. If you are not able to attend this event, please remember that Ferris Booth Commons and JJ’s Place will offer Thanksgiving themed menus on the same night. 

New for 2018

This year seating will include a small tented and heated area on the patio outside of John Jay Dining Hall. This area will replace the seating previously available in the John Jay Lounge as we are no longer permitted to make use of the lounge space for this event. The tented patio will offer a unique alternative for some guests. Tables on the patio seat 10 guests each, however, please keep in mind that this is the only location available for a 10-person group and space is very limited. Table assignments are based on availability so unfortunately specific location requests cannot be accommodated. 

In the spirit of the community, it is also possible that your group may be combined with another to ensure as many students can enjoy this event as possible. For example, 2 groups of 5 might be placed at a 10-person table together. 

Also, we will be collecting non-perishable canned goods at the event to support The Food Pantry at Columbia. Please consider donating and remember that Flex is accepted at several local grocery stores.
