Columbia Dining welcomes Chef Franklin Becker for the Meet & Eat series. Chef Becker visited John Jay on September 28 during lunch to sample favorites from Manhattanville Market, including the Tortilla Española from Oliva Tapas and the Falafel with Hummus and Schug from Shai Hummusiya.
Franklin Becker is a nationally acclaimed culinary leader, and creator of CATCH, Capitale, Brasserie Little Beet and Little Beet. In 2021, he opened Manhattanville Market in the Jerome L. Greene Science building, featuring four separate culturally diverse culinary brands created by Chef Becker including Benny Casanova’s, Shai Hummusiya, The Botanist, Chef Chris Scott’s Butterfunk Biscuit Co., and adjacent to the market, Oliva Tapas, a Spanish tapas restaurant. Chef Becker has appeared on Bravo’s Top Chef Masters, Iron Chef America and as a judge on Beat Bobby Flay.
