Flexible Options for Busy Schedules

Students have demanding class schedules and the challenge of balancing both classwork and equally busy personal lives.

With a Columbia Dining Plan, you'll have both delicious and healthy options, even when you're on the run.

Sophomore, Junior, and Senior Student Dining Plan Highlights

Plans are not required for

residential CC/SEAS or GS students, but they're a great value.

Flexible Meal Options
  • Plans include meals per week or per term. Meals per term allows you to ration your meal balance, in case you don't eat on campus enough to use weekly meals before they expire.
  • Plans with meals by week also include a number of floater meals, in case you run out of meals during the week.
  • Many plans include guest meals for when family and friends come to visit.

Dining Dollars

Most plans include Dining Dollars, which can be used just like cash at any of our dining locations.

  • Dining Dollars roll over year-to-year. They expire upon your graduation.
  • Dining Dollars are tax free.

Flex

Some plans include Flex in addition to or instead of Dining Dollars:

  • Flex allows you put money into an account that you can spend using your University ID card at all Columbia Dining locations, as well a number of other merchants on- and off-campus and online food delivery.

What's New for AY 26-27

Based on student feedback, the following changes have been made to our plans:

  • Reduced the number of plan options to include those most utilized by students, which makes it easier to pick a plan
  • Increased the ratio of Flex to Dining Dollars associated with Plans B and C to provide students with more flexibility

Compare the cost per meal swipe in the table below to the walk-in prices paid by non-plan holders: breakfast, $14; lunch, $18.50; and dinner, $19.50.

Plans with more meals offer the best value per swipe! You could say membership has its privileges.

*Excludes addition of Dining Dollars and/or Flex

Looking for a plan with fewer than 100 swipes?

The best value is to purchase 100 swipes worth of Dining Dollars. Dining Dollars are tax-free, rollover year-to-year, and can be used at any of our on-campus locations.
